Twisted

I'm currently reading my second book called Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson.
I've read 217 pages so far this week.
It's a really good book and I feel like I can relate to it a bit.
Its the story of a boy named Tyler who is struggling to fit in.
He spray paints his high school, causes thousands of dollars in damages, and has probation because of it.
But it was all worth it to him because he gained some new found respect.
Tyler is most happy that Bethany Millbury, his crush since ever, is finding some interest in him.
Too bad his parents don't see it like that.
Especially his dad.
When Bethany and Tyler go to a party together
Bethany gets really really drunk and wants to have sex with Tyler.
As much as Tyler wants to do the same, he knows it wouldnt be right because she was drunk.

After that night, Bethany never spoke a word to Tyler.
In fact, Tyler was being investigated by the police for a connection with the nedu pictures of Bethany circulating the internet.
Tyler is going through hell and doesn't know what to do about it.
To make matters worse, everyone in school beats him up everyday.
Add to that the fact that Bethany is Tylers fathers boss's daughter.

Tylers dad wants to send him to military school even though he knows Tyler did nothing but watch out for Bethany.
Tyler hated his life.
He'd rather end it.
He tried shooting a gun into his mouth but he threw up and couldn't go through with it.
So he wants to run away and then find a way of killing himself.

The last fifty or so pages of what I've read so far is really exciting and I thought of a song that kind of relates to it
Its called Life is Beautiful by Sixx Am

You can't quit until you try
You can't live until you die
You can't learn to tell the truth
Until you learn to lie
You can't breathe until you choke
You gotta laugh when you're the joke
There's nothing like a funeral to make you feel alive
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
I know some things that you don't
I've done things that you won't
There's nothing like a trail of blood to find your way back home
I was waiting for my hearse
What came next was so much worse
It took a funeral to make me feel alive
Just open your eyesJust open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
Alive...
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?

omg this book sounds really interesting. was it on the reading list? and you're right it is a bokk that teenagers can realte to. i definetly can. when one thing goes wrong, it seems like everything starts going wrong, and it's like a dominoe effect. and also i think that alot of parents don't understand their children, especially when they're teenagers which i don't undertand beacuse they were teenagers too at one point in their lives>
